The binding that redefined the standards for adjustability and comfort.
The Katana AW bindings are the iconic disruptors that redefined how a binding can perform. The first binding to ever feature the AsymWrap Platform, the Katana AW have the unique ability to feel unnoticed when cruising but then provide sports car-like steering when it’s time to charge. Discerning riders know that adjustable bindings ride better, that’s why the Katana AW features PivotMounts, a Rome exclusive binding technology that allows for eight different ankle strap positions per side of the strap. Built for riders who want a lightweight, high-performance binding for agile, responsive riding whether darting through trees or cranking euro carves uphill, the Katana AW unlocks unlimited potential for all-terrain navigation and powder day debauchery.
FEATURES:
Adjustability: 9/10
Flex: 6-8/10
Platform - AsymWrap - Our game changer of a chassis that revolutionized the idea of connected comfort, the AsymWrap heelhoop features three connection points to the baseplate. This design allows for a surfy ride and plenty of board feel, without sacrificing tweakability or edge to edge response.
PivotMount - A Rome-exclusive binding innovation, PivotMounts allow you to adjust the position of the ankle strap on your boot with 8 different locations per side of the strap. The higher the strap sits, the more locked-in and powerful the feel, the lower the strap sits the more playful and surfy the ride.
OmniFlex Ankle Straps - The best straps in the game. The next generation of AuxTech®-powered connected comfort comes in the form of our most responsive ankle straps yet. A solid state overmolded design engages with a TPU spine to perfectly blend responsive torsional flex and edge-to-edge power.
ProGrip Toe Straps - Our game changing strap built with the legendary hold of AuxTech®, this one-piece design provides next level locked-in hold and undefeated comfort.
Highback Rotation - Adjusting the highback’s angle to mirror the angle of your heelside edge allows for maximum power transfer.
Highback Canting - Adjusting the highback’s angle to mirror the angle of your lower leg increases connected comfort and stability. Adjustable Baseplate - Created to streamline sizing adjustments for a better fit on a wider range of boot models and sizes.
Forged Aluminum HeelHoop - Designed to provide strength and durability, while remaining lightweight and responsive, we used forged aluminum to make reactive, lightweight bindings that maximize board feel.
BombProof Buckles - A one-piece, forged aluminum construction for better grip and durability.
